Board of Management

LAAS is managed by a publicly elected, dedicated, voluntary management committee.

Chairman

Heather McNaughton

Co-ordinating Lecturer (Disabilities) at TAFESA Renmark Campus. Heather is committed to both the education of

disability support staff and ensuring quality services for people with disabilities in the local region. Heather's

professional background is in speech pathology and bring a wealth of expertise to the LAAS Board

Deputy Chairman

Julie Ahrens

Deputy Principal at Loxton High School and a very active community member, has served on a number of community boards.

Joined the Board at the Annual General Meeting of 2005.

Chief Executive Officer

Roger Firstbrook

Has been employed by the organisation since it's inception in 1986, and has worked in the field of intellectual disability for 30 years.

Took over the role of CEO in 2011. Also Public Officer and Responsible Officer. Non voting Board member.

Brett Spilsbury

General Manager of the Riverland Youth Theatre and has been a Board member since the Annual General Meeting of 2009.

Heather Burton

Lecturer Rural Health at Flinders University Rural Clinical School. Has been a Board member since the Annual General Meeting of 2008.

Debbie Ball

Has been a Board member for 2 years and is very active in fundraising efforts.

Ruth Firstbrook

Has been with the organization since it's inception 1986, and worked in the field of intellectual disability for 40 years. Resigned as

CEO in 2011 and  joined the Board. Is currently Director of Corporate and Community Services for Loxton-Waikerie Council.

Patty Fournaros-Carney

Patty is a support worker in the Accommodation service and joined the Board at the 2011 Annual General Meeting.
