Day Options

LAAS Day Options provides activities that promote community integration through educational, recreational and pre-vocational learning opportunities.

Activities are based on developmental principles that acknowledge individual need and choice. Programmes aim to enhance independence, personal growth and self-satisfaction.

LAAS Day Options prides itself on providing learning outcomes that are worthwhile and which can be realistically applied in daily living.

About LAAS Day Options

LAAS has been providing services since 1986 including education, recreation, independent living skills training, social integration learning, and community access/integration skills.

Recreational/pre-vocational day option services have been successfully operating since 1989.

Objectives

  • to ensure that individuals enjoy the highest possible quality of life
  • provide structured teaching of independent living skills
  • ensure employment of suitably skilled high quality staff
  • provide a quality which meets the National Disability Service Standards.
  • promote learning and recreational activities in a safe, secure, fun environment
  • to develop programs that provide choices for individuals which are flexible and aim to meet individual need
  • a focus on independent living, social, pre-vocational and recreational skills
  • programmes incorporate a dynamic variety of experiences which motivate and promote community participation.

What about the staff....?

LAAS Day Options employs staff that are committed, friendly and experienced in supporting programmes for people with disabilities

Staff undergo constant training so as to provide the best possible service benefits to those people using the programme

Our staff bring with them a variety of skills and experiences which encourages diversity in the program and allows for real choices to be made

Staff a required to have a minimum of:

  • Certificate III Disability Work
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate

And where required to administer medication are appropriately trained and audited as competent.
